Experiment with The Truth
Mr Joseph D’Souza left Mangalore and came to Mumbai in 1946. He stayed with his friends. Within two years, he joined a trading business. Twenty years later, in 1948, egged on by a number of his well-wishers he finally started his own business — on a part-time basis. Five years later in 1953, he left his job and concentrated full-time on his business.
In 1963, he married ___ and they have 3 sons and a daughter. Two of their sons, Osbert and ____ have joined him in his business, whilst Oswald works as a lawyer with L & T. His daughter, ___ is a Principal at Stephen School for the Blind at Dadar.
His company, Oswald Scientific Equipments Pvt. Limited manufactures Lab equipment, Autoclave, Stability Chamber, Incubator, Oven etc. that are used in Pharmaceutical Research Labs, Quality Control Labs etc. He has three industrial units close to each other in Andheri East.
His client list includes the who’s who of the Indian Pharmaceutical Industry cutting across companies and laboratories of all sizes: large and medium cap-listed companies, private companies and laboratories.
His secret to success is simple: Hard Work
On exploring, what really got him into business, he reveals, “many asked me to start my own business”. How did he get his initial bunch of clients? “Well, my employer companies used their influence to get me business!”
His message to our youth is: Get interested in Business. It’ll take you far.
